The Role: Fund Accountant

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (DOE) + bonus

Our client, a rapidly growing private equity and investment services firm, is looking for a Fund Accountant to support their Fund Finance function. The firm deals with multiple products and areas such as private credit, preferred equity and financing. The role allows a lot of development with a plan to get you to a senior position within one of their products in no time.

Responsibility-:

-Reporting:

• Working mainly on the oversight piece of the outsourced administrators
• Working and liaising with service providers
• Developing a detailed understanding of fund performance metrics, calculation methodologies and accounting standards

-Valuations:

• Running valuation calculations for the investments for review and approval by the Fund Controllers

-Fund Operations:

• Achieving a detailed understanding of the fund's partnership agreements, borrowing facility agreements, operational processes, investments, investment pipeline, cash management processes and FX hedging policy
• Creating financial models to assist with fund and portfolio decision making

-Portfolio Management:

• Building and maintaining relationships with the Portfolio Management Team (UK & US) to understand amendments, waivers, changes to positions and terms
• Obtaining a deep understanding of the commercials behind each deal

-Provide support on UK tax compliance matters, Luxembourg (corporate and VAT) and US (Investor K-1 reviews)

-Assisting with Ad hoc projects

Requirements-:

• Qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
• Technically strong in the application of UK GAAP and IFRS. Knowledge of Lux GAAP is desirable
• Prior experience of managing a reporting cycle and producing/reviewing financial statements for a closed end fund in private equity, private debt or hedge fund.
• Advanced Excel - capable of creating financial models
• Experience required: Newly qualified - 4 years PQE.
