Financial Controller - Didcot (hybrid) - £75,000 to £80,000 + Bonus

Marks Sattin are pleased to be working in conjunction with our clients based in Didcot as they look for a Group Financial Controller, a fantastic Media company with offices across the UK as well as overseas, they are linked with some truly impressive household names having seen some impressive double digit growth this year.

I have personally met the FD, he is a genuine individual, easy to work with and has seen a successful career with our clients having started with the company 10 years ago starting as a Financial Accountant, rising through the ranks to be promoted to FD just over 2 years ago.

Internal training and promotion are at the heart of the company.

A salary of up to £80,000 is on offer plus a Bonus, 28 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, private medical, above average pension and more!

A bit about what you may be doing day to day....

  • You will, have responsibility for group reporting & compliance, working closely with the Finance Director as well as various other divisional FD's, both in the UK and overseas.
  • You will work closely with and liaise with our group audit firm, as well as our external tax advisors, as needed, supporting the Group Accounting Director.
  • Ensurin VAT reporting is managed & executed, adhering to local VAT requirements covering Ireland, France, Germany and the UK.
  • Manage a small team inclusive of 2 x Qualified Accountants and 2 x Accounts Assistants ensuring accurate reporting of the weekly sales reporting, monthly group management accounts creating the financials to be used by the UK board.
  • Produce annual financial statements working closely with the external Auditors and Group FD.

A bit about what the clients are looking for in you....

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified
  • You'll ideally be used to working in a Group environment and used to working in a matrixed organisation
  • Experience running consolidations
  • You will need to have excellent UK GAAP, IFRS and FRS101 knowledge
  • Experience in managing and owning VAT Returns
  • Excellent stakeholder management and team management skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • If you have experience if SAP then great but this is NOT essential
