Leadership of the finance team to ensure compliance with the regulatory environment and feed forward management information for the holding company, subsidiaries, joint ventures and associates.

Key responsibilities

Ensure the finance department operates effectively to provide compliance and delivery of necessary financial information including:

  • Timely and accurate periodic management accounts including consolidated accounts at various levels of the group
  • As required, provide commercially focused management information and analysis which supports the executive team decision making
  • Cash flow reports and management
  • Annual statutory accounts to group deadlines using FRS 102, FRS 101 AND IFRS
  • Production of board papers, finance reports and business plans as required by the executive team

Assume immediate day to day responsibility for:

  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Treasury and cash flow management and forecasting, ensuring covenant compliance
  • The completion and review of CIS,VAT and other statutory returns
  • Reviewing Corporation Tax computations
  • Develop, manage and maintain appropriate relationships with auditors, bankers, joint venture partners, property consultants and other external advisors and agencies

Key skills and experience

  • ACA/ACCA or equivalent
  • Highly numerate and analytical with strong core accounting skills
  • Confidence and experience to lead a team of accountants at various levels
  • Consolidation experience
  • Tax compliance experience
  • Effective communicator, being happy to deal with senior executives and junior staff
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner, to know when to delegate
  • Excellent team working skills with the ability to motivate others
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Problem solving ability
  • Act as a mentor to the existing team
  • A sense of humour
