Head of Finance - North Yorkshire
We are absolutely delighted to be partnering exclusively with an incredibly innovative manufacturing business in North Yorkshire.
This business are well backed with plans to triple in turnover over the next three years and due to a recent promotion, they are now looking for a new Head of Finance!
The role will report into a highly experienced MD (with a finance background) and will act as number one in finance for the company. Due to the ambitious growth plans the company has, this Head of Finance role will likely have room to grow and develop into a Finance Director position for a +£100m turnover business within the next few years.
The role will be responsible for both Finance and IT. The Head of Finance will play a key role in providing clear, sound recommendations to support the Exec team in commercial decision making and be the key point of contact with their parent company on all Finance related matters. The position will work closely with the Manging Director and VP International Finance to set financial plans, KPI's and other key success criteria to support business growth.
The Head of Finance will lead the Finance team in the provision of financial information & controls and both commercial and operational support ensuring information is shared and understood to help deliver operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Full control on the Finance function working closely with the current team
- Work in conjunction with group Finance, Managing Director and other colleagues to coordinate, compile and regularly update business plans, Budgeting and Forecasting
- Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to Managing Director, Group and other Directors
- Manage business reporting through the gathering, analysis and dissemination of key Management Information across the business.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the monthly and annual financials in alignment with local statutory requirements
- Drive process improvement across all areas to improve efficiency and ensure that all processes and procedures are fit for purpose
- Key Point of Contact for external contacts including Banks/External Auditors/Tax advisers H.M. Revenue and Customs Deliver commercial support around pricing and margin decisions.
Alongside your Finance responsibilities, the role of Head of Finance will also oversee their IT function. This will include ensuring the IT requirements of the business are met via the outsourced provider. Overseeing, leading and supporting the IT function and leading on projects that will streamline their processes
Skills needed:
- A qualified Accountant CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent
- Strong systems knowledge of automated accounting and ERP systems
- Significant experience working in accounting / finance roles
- Strong technical finance capabilities - able to competently do the day to day role autonomously
- Experience of leading or coaching / mentoring a small team and a strong desire to develop your managerial skills
- Experience working in a fast paced organisation
- Strong commercial acumen with strategic orientation
- Ability to business partner or exec teams, finance and non-finance personnel
Alongside your technical accounting skills, you need to be self-motivated with incredibly strong analytical skills and equally as important, strong communication skills.
