Marks Sattin are working with a leading organisation and high profile event in Birmingham City Centre to recruit an Interim Chief Marketing & Communications Officer.

The role will be initially on a 3 month contract with the potential to be extended.

This role will be a member of the Executive Management team and he/she will oversee all aspects of marketing, communications and media operations, for the organisation.

  • Provide strategic direction and lead the ongoing development and delivery of the organisations integrated communications efforts. Including, but not limited to; marketing, public relations, public affairs, and engagement.
  • Strengthen and protect the brand, building the profile through compelling media, stakeholder and consumer engagement programmes
  • Lead the cross-partner Strategic Communications Group to ensure all communications are coordinated and integrated to uphold the shared vision
  • Hosting press conferences and conducting media briefings and interviews where relevant
  • Oversee local, national and international media engagement ensuring cross-partner collaboration and alignment
  • Lead and empower an outstanding team of professionals that will support all marketing, communications and engagement, including market research, advertising, communication, public affairs, promotion, community engagement, publications and customer service
  • Manage significant marketing, media operations and communications budgets

Requirements:

  • Immediately available / available at short notice to commence an interim assignment
  • Higher Education qualifications in Media, PR or other relevant discipline
  • Significant senior experience in media / public relations in large high-profile multi-national organisation/s
  • A track record of managing significant budgets and experience of out-sourcing contracts and contractor/supplier relationships
  • Substantive and significant experience of successfully working at senior/board level
  • Proven experience to motivate and inspire a broad team through effective leadership and development
  • Politically astute with the ability to think strategically
  • Experience of working with a range of public and private organisations including government agencies, voluntary and third sector
  • Considerable experience of leading brand and marketing strategies and projects
  • Significant relevant experience in design and development of Public Relations communication strategies and tools

On offer is day rate of £600-£700 (Inside IR35) dependant on experience.
