Exclusively working with a large international service provider to recruit a Financial Controller on a 6 month basis. The role is within the finance team team whose remit is oversight, insight and communication around the various business units and legal entities.


Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Finance Director/MD, this role is accountable for managing all finance and accounting operations and compliance associated with Transactional Finance and coordination and production of accurate and timely Management Accounts & Statutory financial statements.

This role line manages the Transactional Finance Team Leader, Management Accountant and Assistant Management Accountant whilst ensuring the reporting requirements of the business are achieved.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations such as billing, banking, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Credit Control.
  • Review management accounts and any board papers, ensuring they are submitted in line with agreed deadlines e.g. fiscal month end, year-end process ensuring quality control over all financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Prepare/review/publish any regulatory reporting such as statutory accounts and filing of tax packs accurately and on time
  • Plan and liaise with Auditors for year-end audits
  • Review reconciliations prepared by the team in line with fiscal month end deadlines and hold regular feedback sessions
  • Hold monthly reviews with sales ledger/purchase ledger teams and Transactional Finance Team Leader
  • Oversee process improvements in line with ongoing projects to ensure there is a well-documented, strong and robust controls framework and all in line with legislation and compliance updates
  • Map out transactional processes and drive efficiencies in these areas, ensuring key processes are documented to reduce key man dependencies
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and governance
  • Payment practices reporting to be completed and submitted in line with the bi-annual deadlines
  • Participate in the inventory valuation and checking process
  • Any ad hoc requests to meet the business needs and reporting requirements

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Qualified accountant with a number of years post qualification experience and exposure managing medium to large teams
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly IFRS
  • Significant statutory and regulatory reporting experience
  • Experience of a fast moving, highly controlled, multinational/functional organisation.

Must be available to start within the next month and will have previous line management responsibilities.
