Finance Project Manager - Shared Services

The role

The Finance Project Manager will work with the Finance Shared Service Centre and international teams on the transformation program.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify candidate processes and services for transition to the SSC ahead of the implementation of the new system; at the point of go-live of the new system; and as the new system stabilises
  • Work with central, regional and local finance teams to understand local requirements and where possible, transition to a standard process and way of working
  • Ensure that transitions are properly managed and governed, that processes are fully documented, that knowledge share activities are completed and that all parties sign off appropriate milestones
  • Work with Global Process Owners to ensure that transitioned processes are compliant with local statutory and tax regulations
  • Work with SSC management on recruitment activities to ensure teams are resourced to take on new services
  • Work with HR and local finance teams to ensure people impacts are managed appropriately
  • Lead on communication, engagement and training activities
  • Work with Programme teams to understand the impact transitions will have on the programme, especially from a change management, training and data quality perspective
  • Ensure that Service Level Agreements are in place between the SSC and finance teams for all newly transitioned services
  • Engage with Change Review/Management processes as required to assess/review/sign off all technology and process changes.

Skills & Experience needed

  • Ideally Prince 2 Practitioner (or similar) and / or experience and understanding of the project life cycle
  • Experience of working on finance projects
  • Advantageous if understands transactional finance but not essential
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ideally have worked with shared services and / or offshore delivery centres
  • Be a self-starter, who is able to work on their own initiative as well as being part of a virtual team
  • Experience of working on large scale, multi-location change initiatives
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the international teams.
