Interim Site Financial Controller

North East

£60K + Car + Attractive Bonus / £300 - £400 per day

The Site Financial Controller reports into the Factory General Manager. The Site Financial Controller is a vital role within the leadership team supporting the site and business strategy and has strong business partner links at all levels across the site and wider business. The role is responsible for the timely delivery and well expressed communication of weekly, periodic and annual planning, reporting and control of the site's financial and KPI performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Site lead for site financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, including prime, overhead, logistics, capital and restructuring budgets and forecasts for the site
  • Prepare detailed weekly, monthly and annual financial reports and KPIs for site and meaningfully communicate to all other areas of the business. Includes prime cost variance analysis, cost centre overhead reporting, waste & project tracking
  • Capital project approval and investment appraisal. Asset management including timely additions, disposals and verification
  • Leadership coaching on the factory floor engaging with colleagues in order to drive performance
  • Work as part of the leadership team to develop and deliver site strategy, goals and objectives in line with business strategy, goals and objectives
  • Provide constructive challenge to Manufacturing and Supply Chain and drive improvements
  • Play an integral part in change programmes across the site focusing on supporting new product launches and capital installations, including all Project Tracking, e,g, waste, energy benefits
  • Maintain Financial control across all functions at site in the preparation of period and year end accounts including quarterly compliance
  • Adequately resource provision for tender product costing requirements
  • Support of all areas of food manufacturing including Health, Safety & Environmental auditing and Technical/ Quality audits
  • Constantly looking at ways to improve and streamline reporting processes to ensure all activities add value
  • Provide expert knowledge of food manufacturing processes to other areas of the business, therefore providing detailed analysis of the drivers of performance
  • People development including coaching and training of self and others including non-site based roles.

Key skills and experience:

  • Qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA with relevant PQE, preferably gained in a manufacturing, food or FMCG environment
  • Financial experience gained as a Site Finance Manager/Financial Controller/Business Partner
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data into analysis / information which enable users to understand business performance and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication skills which will enable you to influence the site Operational Team
  • Strong leadership & coaching skills
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills
  • Disciplined and organised with the ability to work under pressure
  • Experience of system & process improvements - able to develop new ways of working to streamline operations and remove non-value add activities
  • Excellent Excel skills.
