Management Accountant

Contract: Temporary (with a strong chance to go permanent)

Salary: £40,000-£45,000

Location: London (Office‑based Monday-Thursday) / Working from Home (Friday)

Working Pattern:

• Monday-Thursday: 9:00am - 6:15pm (office‑based)
• Friday: 8:30am - 12:30pm (remote)

About the Company

The organisation is a well‑established retail business with a strong market presence and a focus on long‑term growth. Finance plays a key role in supporting commercial decision‑making across the business, and they are now seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis, with a strong likelihood of the role becoming permanent.

The Role

Act as a key business partner to stakeholders across the organisation. The position requires solid retail experience and the ability to provide insight, challenge, and support to drive financial and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and adherence to reporting deadlines
• Managing, supporting, and training the wider business through effective business partnering
• Monitoring financial performance against agreed budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and insight
• Regularly updating the Head of Finance on business‑critical issues and opportunities, and proposing practical solutions

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant within the retail sector (essential)
• Demonstrable experience in a business partnering capacity (essential)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with high attention to detail
• Confident communicator, able to work effectively with non‑finance stakeholders
• SAP experience (desirable)
