Start your job searchMarks Sattin are supporting a rapidly growing manufacturing organisation in Walsall to recruit a Management Accountant on a full time, permanent basis. This a brand new position within the finance team due to continued business growth. The role will be based on-site 5 days per week, so applicants must be within a commutable distance.
My client are going through an exciting time of growth and have their eyes set on further organic growth and future acquisitions, which the Management Accountant will be a part of!
The Management Accountant will report to the Head of Finance and will be instrumental in the provision of management accounts, financial analysis, project accounting, streamlining of processes and system implementations. The Management Accountant will also be comfortable taking a hands-on approach with the ability to assist with transactional accounting duties as well as high level business partnering activities with senior stakeholders and presenting monthly reporting packs to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
The Management Accountant will be responsible for:
- Production of monthly management accounts
- Reviewing and analysing the P&L, and highlighting and resolving discrepencies and errors
- Balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining the fixed asset register
- Preparing month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Assisting the Head of Finance with the preparation of forecasts, and provision of variance analysis against actuals
- Business Partnering with non-finance stakeholders and driving commercial acumen across the site
- Supporting the Head of Finance as a key liaison with the auditors during year-end
- Supporting the Head of Finance in the streamlining of processes and other continous improvement projects
- Supporting the system implementation of Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Cash management: E.g. Maintaining nd reconciling credit card and petty cash transactions, posting of bank payments and receipts, and performing bank reconciliations
- Transactional accounting duties: Credit Control. Matching purchase invoices to purchase orders. Ensuring all sales and purchase invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner in order to meet month end accounting deadlines.
To be considered you must:
- Have experienced in a similar role
- Have experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Be a good communicator with the ability to liaise with finance and non-finance teams
- (Ideally) have supported process improvement projects and system implementation projects
- Be a hands-on Accountant with the ability to manage transactional accounting duties through to management accounting duties
- Be a good Excel User and ERP System User (Ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Be within a commutable distance as the role will be office based
- Be a self-starter
