Management Accountant - London

Seeking a Management Accountant for a 3-month contract within a construction company based in Central London. Hands on business partnering role in which you will be responsible for management accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Produce monthly management accounts and KPI reporting in accordance with group reporting deadlines and formats
• Assist with external Group reporting, including statutory reporting requirements.
• Full Balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist Group Management accountant with budget and forecasts
• Assist/Support with bank payments and transfers, ensuring appropriate controls around loading and authorisation of payments.
• Cost analysis - supporting the operational and commercial teams in order to understand trends and cost saving areas
• Revenue recognition process, ensuring appropriate controls around completeness and accuracy of income, and appropriate cash collection processes.
• General ledger accounting, ensuring the "record-to-report" process is accurate and contributes to the efficiency of month end management accounts production
• VAT accounting and compliance.
• Implementing the group's core finance application (Access Dimensions) to its full potential in both businesses
• Ad hoc analysis as requested by Group finance or the senior managers

Essential:

• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Previous experience as a Management Accountant
• Experience of preparing financial and KPI reporting
• Excellent inter-personal skills, able to influence all levels of the organisation

Desirable:

• Experience of supporting advisors in preparing corporation tax returns
• Experience of a construction environment, or a long-term contract / job costing environment
• Experience of changing/implementing new finance package
