Location: Hybrid - WFH/WFO - Dublin 2
This is a significant opportunity for a newly qualified/Qualified accountant looking to gain experience in a large public sector organisation while also gaining exposure to Big4 consultancy programmes. This position sits in a very commercially driven environment. With lots of opportunity for development for the right applicant.
Duties will include:
- Maintaining and updating the Fixed Asset Register and associated controls in line with policies and procedures and Code of Practice for Governance of State Bodies
- Preparation and maintenance of the monthly fixed assets, including capitalising assets, calculation of depreciation charge, impairment, amortisation, verifying location of assets etc.
- Holding regular meetings to discuss fixed assets with business units, heads of function, custodians, other finance areas and project managers;
- Oversight and coordination of queries in relation to insurance, including coordinating the annual insurance renewal process and ongoing insurance risk register;
- Business partner with areas to assist in the completion of the annual budgeting and forecasting process;
Other
- Support system development and upgrade within the finance function;
- Support process improvement and development of finance controls;
- Support the development of internal finance portals and business partnering reporting;
- Support implementation and improvement of business analysis and reporting; and
- Other ad-hoc duties as required.
The Candidate must have:
- Qualified candidate - ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA
- Experience Fixed Asset Accounting or Strong Audit Experience
- Good analytical ability, with a logical approach to problem solving and sound judgement;
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with stakeholders; and
- Strong MS Office and MS Excel skills;
