An exciting client facing role with a FTSE250 business - perfect for someone looking to do something a little different with their accounting qualification!

This role sits within the origination team and you will develop relationships with a range of external deal sources including corporate finance, debt advisory, private equity and broker channels.

This role is best suited to someone who is a chartered accountant as you will be best placed to look at a company's financial position, and then you'll be working with the credit team and put together a proposal to the client - focusing specifically on deals with facilities in excess of £2.5 million.

This is a very financially rewarding position, and if you have a flair for being extremely consultative with your clients, the uncapped commission structure in place means you could take home in excess of £100k per year.

This role is classed as working from home with occasional office attendance in London and Brighton. You will also have the option to attend the office if you wish.

Responsibilities of Origination Director:

  • Develop a network of corporate finance and debt advisory acquisition channels as a consistent route to market.
  • Ability to assess a broad range of complex financial and non-financial information to then structure terms with a focus on maximising quantum without exposing the business to unnecessary impairment risk.
  • Must be able to assess financial statements - profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow statements (both statutory and customer source data) and undertake suitable lender due diligence.
  • Must be able to form a strong and objective opinion on asset values in both solvent and insolvent scenarios
  • Ability to prepare complex but succinct credit applications and present transactions to local and group credit committee.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate key risks and be able to negotiate terms internally and externally whilst delivering transactions within the businesses credit policy / lending guidelines

Requirements of Origination Director:

  • Must have experience in Assurance/Corporate Finance /Debt Advisory/working in M&A
  • Financial qualification enabling strong assessments of P&L, BS and CF statements
