ACA Recently Qualified Private Equity Portfolio Analyst
This is a role for a newly qualified, Big 4, ACA to move into a Portfolio Analyst role within a Private Equity firm that focuses its investments on emerging markets, primarily Sub-Saharan Africa.
If you have funds experience from a big 4 firm and want a role that does not involve core reporting but instead gets you closer to the deals and investments, then this is a fantastic opportunity for you.
The role itself reports into both the Head of Finance and one of the investment Principles. Portfolio monitoring, tracking of sales data and quarterly investment reporting will be a mainstay, as will valuation work and analysis of current and potential investments. Strong excel skills are therefore essential as financial modeling will play a large part in this role. Presenting at monthly meetings on the portfolio companies' performance, high levels of engagement with said companies and constant involvement with the investment team means that the successful candidate must be comfortable with people and an effective communicator.
In terms of the firm, it currently has two funds and is in the midst of raising its third. They have a robust set of core values which lends itself to its investment strategy across SSA. This has led to the growth and spread of a fantastic company culture where the open plan office allows exposure for anyone, into any facet of the business. This therefore means that they are looking for a like minded individual and thus an interest in Africa is paramount. Also - for the more practical reason that the role will involve travel to Africa on a frequent basis.
The package is competitive and the bonus will be upwards of 50%.
If this role is of interest to you, if you are a newly qualified big 4 ACA from any department, looking for an analytical, investment focused role, then please get in touch with thomas.wesseldine@markssattin.com.
