Senior Financial Reporting Analyst - Day rate contract

We are recruiting for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst with experience in the banking sector to come on board on a 6 month - 12-month initial contract.

Our client is an international private bank based in London. The role requires 5 days a week in the office.

The successful applicant will be a qualified accountant that is immediately available to start employment (or on a notice period of no longer than 2 weeks), with a solid background in the financial reporting space within a small-medium sized bank.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the timely production of monthly, half-yearly, and yearly management accounts packs, including commentary, variance analysis, and financial analysis for monthly ALCO/EXCO meetings.
  • Ensure the timely preparation of Financial Statements under FRS/IFRS standards, including disclosures, tax provisions, annual Corporation Tax return, Deferred Tax adjustments, and Quarterly VAT returns under the PESM Method.
  • Manage and review daily BAU tasks of the Financial Reporting Assistant Manager, including setting and monitoring objectives, conducting performance reviews, setting KPIs, reviewing expenses, approving supplier payments, and reviewing Nostro reconciliations for Financials, VAT, and Tax matters.
  • Assist in system, process, and control improvements, ensuring the integrity of financial data through direct collaboration with IT, Senior Board Members, and the CEO, COO, and CFO.
  • Liaise with External and Internal Auditors, lead audit functions, resolve queries, and provide supporting evidence.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to the Bank's financial reporting and accounting functions, maintaining the integrity of data within the bank's core system.
  • Prepare Transfer Pricing policy documentation, Budgets, Forecasts, and maintain and update accounting policies and procedures while implementing controls and automation where feasible.
  • Oversee CT600 return submissions to HMRC, including R&D credits and loss relief from previous years.
  • Automate internal processes for AEOI & BBSI Returns to HMRC.
  • Prepare annual Budgets, Planning, Forecasting, and ensure effective Cost Control.

Key Experience Required:

  • Qualified accountant.
  • Able to do 5 days a week in the office.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/FRS reporting standards.
  • Experience in similar finance roles within the banking sector.
  • Excellent communication skills.
