Marks Sattin is currently working with a leadoing retail client who is recruiting for a Senior Internal Auditor.

This a rare opportunity as the business is going through an exciting stage where you will be a key part of helping to establish an effective control environment. Working closely with the Head of, you will be establishing the internal audit function across the group.

You will ensure the risk management function has all material risks documented, supported, and properly reported to management, Audit Committee, and to the external auditors.

In the role you will be responsible for:

  • Plan, manage, and execute internal audit engagements independently
  • Produce clear and succinct internal audit reports summarizing all identified audit issues
  • Ensure agreed upon action plans are implemented
  • Perform ad-hoc projects/assignments as required
  • Provide ad-hoc advice and guidance on process and control related matters to the business
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Counsel the Internal BAU teams so they can perform controls effectively and make necessary changes.
  • Where appropriate, work on future acquisitions and support in ensuring they adopt standard processes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Ideally you will have internal audit experience and a relevant internal audit, risk or accountancy qualification (IIA, IRM, ACA)
  • Track record of independently testing controls and providing feedback
  • Experience of operating in a relatively complex business
  • Excellent business partnering and communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential with the ability to draft engaging and impactful reporting for the Board and other key stakeholders
