This is an excellent opportunity with a global Insurance organisation for a Senior Project Accountant on a 12 month FTC. The position will join remotely and will have remote working options going forward. The role will report into the Senior Finance team and will be working on how the IFRS17 standard will be applied to the insurance organisation.

Duties will include:

• Technical interpretation of how to apply the IFRS 17 standard for both gross and reinsurance. Managing decisions made and ensuring that the other product owners have understanding about how this impacts their delivery.
• Manage audit schedule with external auditors. Sharing papers, running review sessions, collating and managing feedback and questions.
• Support investigation of gross and reinsurance calculations, identifying gaps in data, assumptions, methodology is correct etc.
• Responsible for technical interpretation of how to apply the IFRS 9
• Responsible for the creation of the transitional balance sheet, including shaping the approach, review the balances produced and preparing notes and disclosures.
• Consult with relevant stakeholders on decisions that require validation/additional knowledge

The Successful candidate will have:

• Professional accountancy qualification i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
• Stakeholder Management experience - Builds and maintains strong relationships at all levels
• Experience in General insurance accounting
• Experience of IFRS17 and other regulatory accounting standards
• Experience liaising with third party consultancies such as Accountancy Auditing teams
• Experience of implementing new standards such as IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and IFRS 9
