12 month FTC - Supply Chain Analyst - MUST HAVE COGS experience!

I am working with a well known and loved brand name in the FMCG industry on a 12 month FTC.

The role is based in West London and hybrid - 3 days per week in the office.

The Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting on Distribution and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).

The duties of the Supply Chain Analyst will include:


  • Understand key drivers for all costs relating to the distribution cost centres
  • Undertake review meetings with relevant stakeholders in supply chain to gain insights
  • Ensure that all assumptions are documented and aligned with Supply Chain Director
  • Provide clear assumptions and guidance to both accounting and FP&A team in order for accurate planning of the Budget, LLE and LE
  • Ensure all actuals are captured correctly, ensuring that costs are transparent and understood
  • Prepare monthly review deck with a focus on highlighting performance vs PY/ LE, follow up with any remedial action
  • Influence change where necessary to drive improvements ensuring communication is clear, concise, and adapted to meet the requirements of audience.
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Work with Supply chain Team to manage accruals for Month End
  • Review Actual Spend v's Budget & LE and provide explanation for variances
  • Complete monthly stock reconciliation
  • Conduct regular meetings with Co-pack manager, to investigate and report on consumption variances
  • Ensure that provisions for stock at risk /short dated stocks are corrected calculated and posted
  • Responsibility for calculating and updating the Standard COGS for Budget for imported and co-pack products
  • Analysis of non standard COGS (All divisions) e.g. purchase price variances, production variance, absorption
  • Preparation of the Manufacturing P&L
  • New product COGS & Go to Market support

The ideal Supply Chain Analyst will:

  • Have previous COGS experiece (ESSENTIAL)
  • Be part-qualified in CIMA/ ACCA (ideally a finalist)
  • Have experience in FMCG or retail industry
  • Have advanced Excel skills
  • Have previous inventory accounting experience
  • Have previous experience using SAP software (ideal)
  • Have previous financial accounting experience
  • Have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
