This leading Alternative Investment Manager that focuses on Private Equity, Distressed Debt and Core Real Estate Deals, is looking for someone to join their Transaction Support Team. This candidate will be at Manager or Senior Manager Level from the Transaction Advisory/Valuations division of a top tier practice.

This is an opportunity to leave practice for a commercial and deal orientated, in house, role in the Transaction support team of an incredibly successful alternative investment firm based in the heart of Mayfair.

The firm is well known throughout North America and Europe. With only 100 in the London office (circa 300 globally) the firm boasts the culture of a tight-knit boutique. It's a sociable and friendly environment with a heavy emphasis on work/life balance - even in positions such as this which is exposed to transactions.

In terms of what the business is looking for; someone who wants to utilize their valuations experience and leverage it in industry, someone who wants to and is comfortable getting involved with deals from the execution stage onwards and finally, someone with prior experience of transactions - as liaising with asset managers, lawyers and tax professionals will be a mainstay. A major benefit of the role is that it is autonomous; you will take sole responsibility for all of your deals, which will be a mixture of infrastructure, credit and private equity.

The position can be split into three parts; Investment closing (Coordination of closings, DD and structuring), Investment Management (Portfolio reviews, active support of disposition process, cash-flow projections) and Portfolio Monitoring/Valuations (build and maintain valuation models, regular contact with asset managers, deal performance reporting).

This role is a rare opportunity to gain exposure to transactions without the long hours of being in an Investment team. In terms of where it sits internally, the Transaction Support team works alongside the Investment team and is supported by the Finance teams (Dublin, Lux and London). The team is currently 6 strong and comprised of all Big 4 ACAs with prior Valuations or Corporate Finance experience.

The background of the successful candidate will likely be someone who qualified in audit before moving into Valuations or another Transaction Advisory team for at least 2 years. They will need to be at least Manager level and have a natural interest in deals.

In terms of remuneration, dependent on experience, the base will range from £65,000 - £85,000 and there will be a discretionary bonus estimated to be at 50%.

If you are interested in moving out of practice to join a growing, leading player within the alternative investment space, in a tight-knit team that offers support and growth, then please do not hesitate to apply. Similarly, if you would like to see a full spec of have a confidential discussion then get in touch directly with Thomas Wesseldine at Marks Sattin.
