Start your job searchMarks Sattin are working with a reputable manufacturing organisation with a global presence to recruit a UK Financial Controller for their South Birmingham site. The role is a site based role, so applicants must be within a commutable distance.
My client are going through an exciting time of growth and development within the market and are now looking for a UK Financial Controller to lead the finance team at their South Birmingham site. Reporting to the European Finance Controller, the UK Financial Controller will play an integral role in the financial strategy and planning for the site. The Financial Controller will also ensure compliance in line Group policies and procedures.
Responsibilities of the Financial Controller include:
- Directly managing a team of 4
- Working as a key member of the SMT in the development of financial strategy and key projects within the site
- Organise and manage budgeting, forecasting, financial and management reporting
- Oversee the preparation of weekly and monthly management accounts including and exploring variances and detailed commentary
- Preparation of monthly board pack
- Delivering timely KPI reporting to the group
- Managing year end accounts, statutory returns and audit preparation
- Liaise with banks, auditors and tax advisors
- Maintaining robust internal controls and improving processes where necessary
- Balance sheet and control account reconciliations, analysis and review
- Liaising with key stakeholders - supporting them with financial understanding & driving efficiencies
The Financial Controller will be:
- A Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Experienced within a complex manufacturing environment
- Interpersonally strong with the ability to communicate at all levels across finance and non-finance teams
- An effective influencer with the ability to lead individuals to the best outcomes
- Experienced in a managerial role, with the ability to motivate and drive individuals
- A proficient IT user and ERP user
- Someone with a continuous improvement mindset
- Able to work on-site full time
