Start your job searchA temp to perm opportunity for an Accounts Assistant has become available at a well-known hospitality group.
An Accounts Assistant is needed to join the team with the aim of going permanent and progressing within the company.
The role is based in Central London and hybrid working - 2 days a week in the office, 3 at home.
Responsible with the other members of the Commercial team for producing:
- Production of daily cash and bank reconciliations, analysing all payment methods and investigating cash/cards variances and resolving them in a timely manner
- Producing daily and weekly revenue reports and monthly revenue reconciliation
- As directed by the Management Accountants support the restaurant month end process and production of Financial Review Meeting ("FRM") packs for all restaurants
- Assist with production of ad hoc analysis used to identify and understand revenue themes across the estate and communicate results with GMs
- Performing the monthly deposit reconciliations across the group
- Help Management Accountant identify potential bad debts across the group and liaise with GMs to resolve them
- Performing the monthly trade debtors reconciliations across the group
- Work closely with Events team to reconcile deposits between the till systems and accountancy software
- Support Management Accountants and Commercial Finance Manager with their objectives to create consistent Commercial Finance processes
- Complete regular balance sheet and bank reconciliations for the multiple restaurants as directed by Management Accountant
- Understand reasons for key variances and identify and fix the issues
- Issue sales invoices
- Charging agency commissions and liaise with external third parties
- At year end liaise with external auditors to provide requested samples
- As directed by Management Accountants help prepare and reconcile year end accounts
- Alongside Management Accountants always act as the secondary contact between the restaurant and Finance and with the help of the functional teams resolve financial issues in the restaurants
- Attend sites to address ad hoc issues during the month, help ensure that financial controls are being adhered to at the restaurants and develop relationships with operational staff and provide training where necessary
Required Competences
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant type role
- Previous use of SAP is ideal but not essential
- Intermediate with Excel
- Actively seek opportunities to develop and learn from experience at all levels
- Communicate openly and clearly both verbally and in writing
- Develop positive working relationships at all levels
- Act on own initiative when appropriate
