Are you an experienced Billing Assistant looking to take a step up in your career? Or maybe you're looking to develop your skills on more technical level?

I'm working with a growing Legal business that are on the lookout for a Legal Billing Assistant to join their team based in Leeds.

Where you will fit in…

You'll be joining a developing fast paced business within a role that offers flexibility to your approach and method of working:

Role:

  • You will be responsible for the entire billing process for your own clients
  • Monitoring the distribution and billing of the manual billing guides
  • Running the auto billing process managing any KPIs and client expectations
  • Liaising with partners and fee earners to ensure the correct charge rates are allocated
  • Monitoring and reacting to unbilled WIP
  • Managing discounts and rebates

Proactively maintaining a record of fixed fee matters, and billing each month providing timely and tracking reports to the client lead

  • Liaising with cashiers and credit control in relation to payment queries
  • Raising credit notes as required
  • Ensuring VAT rules are correctly interpreted and applied
  • Liaising with the Finance Administration to ensure matters correctly set-up and billing on time
  • Escalating any matters that may hinder the billing process
  • Providing analyses as required from time to time

What you need?

You'll need to have a strong understanding of the legal billing process from end to end and can demonstrate the ability to prioritise workloads independently to tight deadlines. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to engage with key stakeholders across multiple sites and location. The ability to use your initiative and attention to detail is a must while a having a hardworking, proactive and positive approach. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within a legal accounting or billing environment.
