An international banking business are undergoing a number of changes in their finance function, this has opened up a requirement for an experienced contractor to join.

12-month fixed term contract to assist the finance team in driving change and transformation across various aspects of finance including: regulatory reporting, FP&A, financial control, and stress testing by acting as an intermediary between the finance team and the technical stakeholders. Working with the Finance Change Project Manager and finance SMEs, the Finance Business Analyst will capture, clarify, and design business requirements and processes from which applications and solutions will then be developed.

As the BA you will be expected to drive the functional integrity of the overall solution ensuring that all key elements of the business case are satisfied by the business requirements through the full project lifecycle.

Some of your responsibilities will include

  • Analyse finance requirements to ensure these are corrected recorded and implemented in the Finance Change Program
  • Prepare detailed universally understood Business Cases to support initiatives within the FCP and prepare detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs).
  • Act as a liaison between finance department end-users, technical experts, developers, 3rd party suppliers and testers.
  • Consult in the end-to-end project lifecycle through analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of systems to ensure they meet the department's optimal operational performance
  • Define and manage scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for the FCP.
  • Facilitate input from stakeholders, provide constructive challenge and enable effective prioritisation of requirements.
  • Establish the requirements baselines, obtain formal agreement to requirements, ensure traceability to source, create UAT test cases that are fit for purpose, which assure requirements are delivered according to the baselined scope.
  • Conduct impact analysis to assess the potential implications of changes to baselined requirements and ensure those are documented in line with the Project Management Policy
  • Adhere to all Group policies and procedures, standards and regulations

You will be expected to have prior experience in the below

  • 3 to 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst within Finance with expertise in regulatory reporting system implementation
  • Excellent data analysis/mapping skills with the ability to translate business requirements in a straightforward and simple manner.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Reporting from a COREP and Liquidity perspective
  • Skilled at leveraging written and oral presentation to communicate effectively with stakeholders and ensure requirements are clear and unambiguous
  • Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong engagement with SMEs, IT colleagues, project stakeholders and supplier delivery team
