Start your job searchAn international natural resources business are seeking a Head of Finance to help establish and build a new team at their new London headquarters.
Reporting into the Group CFO, you will be responsible or their European region which generates over £3bn and employs over 10,000 staff, this role will lead all commercial finance and reporting functions.
This Head of Finance role requires a driven individual who can play a key role in the newly formed finance function, overseeing the financial control function covering Business & Financial Controlling, Commercial Controlling and Performance Management for the European region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of the business' budgeting and forecasting across the region
- Oversee the monthly closing of actual results
- Decision support for senior management across the region, alerting the business of risk & opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements / Group Accounting Policies
- Partner and help oversee in country local finance teams
- Ensure consistency of approach in reporting across clusters within the division
- Support the Group CFO and management throughout finance management cycles
- Review operational KPIs - challenge target setting and variance analysis through the Commercial Controlling Officer, to supporting the commercial operations from a financial control perspective
- Tracking of productivity, management initiatives and their achievements
Essential Qualifications, Skills, Experience, Attributes and Key Relationships:
- 10 years + in business control and /or accounting, preferably in capital intensive environments
- ACA/ACCA/ACMA qualification or equivalent
- Experience in designing and / or supporting implementation of systems which facilitate financial planning and analysis
- Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Any other language is an advantage
- Team spirit, entrepreneurial instincts and creative mind-set
- Highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads
