A business services and consultancy business based in London is currently seeking a new Finance Manager to join their entrepreneurial business.

The role will be responsible for running the finance function and business partnering with leadership and founders. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts and providing commentary, with a focus on analysis to aid growth.
  • Production of variance analysis
  • Improve understanding of profitability through development of financial models
  • Identification of key business drivers of margin
  • Development of monthly reporting pack to address key information for senior management.
  • Taking ownership of budget and forecasting processes
  • Ensuring clean balance sheet accounts are maintained.
  • To liaise with the management team to ensure accurate payment of salaries, commissions, bonuses, and other payments.
  • Managing staff expenses and company credit cards processes
  • Implementing good controls and improving processes to increase efficiency.
  • Analysing financial data for ad-hoc reporting
  • Preparing audit readiness and liaising with external auditors
  • Ensure that PAYE, NI, VAT and corporation tax returns are prepared on an accurate and timely basis.
  • Additional ad hoc work including MI and analysis to support commercial business decisions.

This role is best suited to a Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent), ideally with some experience working in audit, from a top 10/50 firm however other backgrounds will be considered. Candidates must be commercially focussed and with a genuine interest in the workings of a business. Candidates must have formidable energy and drive, able to work effectively in a pressurized environment - with excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues. Strong Excel skills are essential, with the ability to present information to commercial teams to drive action. Ideal candidates will be pro-active, take initiative and show the ability to highlight an opportunity and then drive it to completion independently. Understanding of tax and legal requirements relating to finance in the UK and US is beneficial.
