About the Role & Company
Join a pioneering, award-winning international insurance underwriting group as our FP&A Manager on an initial 6-month contract.

This is a relatively newly formed company which provides specialised (re)insurance products internationally, including having a syndicate at Lloyds, and they are set for continued rapid growth.

This role will suit someone with comprehensive understanding of the insurance sector, and a solid background in FP&A or Business Partnering who would enjoy a hybrid working arrangement.

The Role Responsibilities
As the FP&A Manager, you will be driving our financial planning and analysis activities. This interim role is crucial for our ongoing success and offers a dynamic and impactful experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate budget and forecast meetings with business lines and cost centre heads
  • Develop investment models for trading teams and long-term strategic planning
  • Produce business cases for new investments and strategic initiatives
  • Spearhead the preparation and delivery of Board and EXCO reports
  • Generate detailed variance analyses for comprehensive group reporting
  • Co-ordinate P&L and business review sessions with Managing Directors
  • Oversee the entire FP&A month-end closing process
  • Create and maintain KPI dashboards and analytics for management
  • Utilise BI tools to provide actionable business performance insights
  • Evaluate and improve current financial processes and procedures
  • Coordinate with the financial accounting team on accruals and prepayments
  • Act as the primary finance contact for all risk-related issues
  • Support the rollout of new finance reporting tools
  • Identify and address areas of cost inefficiency

Criteria for Selection
We are seeking a highly capable and motivated professional with the following attributes:

  • You must be a Qualified Accounting (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA) with over 5 years of post-qualification experience
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years recently working in the insurance sector
  • Must have solid experience in FP&A, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills for modelling & analytics
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint
  • Strong communication, influencing and persuasive skills
  • Excellent presentation capabilities
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently

Are you an experienced FP&A professional looking for a challenging interim role in a dynamic insurance underwriting group? This 6-month contract offers you the chance to make a substantial impact and drive our financial planning and analysis efforts.
