Marks Sattin are delighted to recruiting a Group Head of External Reporting for a Leeds based financial services organisation.

Responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for all Group External Reporting and Group Entity Statutory Accounts
• Timetabling and management of the Group Year End
• Preparation of Quarterly Financial Information For Bond Reporting/Bankers/Investors
• Challenge to Operating Units on Financial Accounting matters
• Oversight of accounting treatments for portfolio investments
• Provide expertise to Investor Relations team in respect of external reporting and Investor questions
• Lead interactions with the Business Services Unit to provide a level of oversight, expertise and advice on accounting and reporting matters
• Development of the reporting accountants within the team
• Responsible for the management of Group Audit Committee including relationship with NED/Chair of Audit Committee, development of strategic agenda items and preparation of accounting papers including CFO Report
• Support Group CFO with financial and accounting analysis to ensure optimal commercial decision are made
• Responsible for relationship management of external auditors
• Responsible for development of audit strategy and audit approach
• Lead the commercial and technical accounting discussions on strategic projects to ensure optimal solutions are achieved - working closely with several business areas
• Lead the improvement to systems and controls to ensure the Group financial control environment is appropriate for future growth and documented in taxonomies and process maps.
• Lead the ongoing development and operationalization of accounting policies

This opportunity is ideally suited to an ACA qualified (or equivalent) Accountant with strong technical skills, including detailed knowledge of IFRS9.
