The Client
My client are a leading provider of business services across a range of industry sectors, including several large PLC's. Since the companies inception in 2007 they have achieved accelerated growth, won multiple awards and a recent highlight has been their listing on the London Stock Exchange. They continue to exceed Sales, Profit and Share Growth expectations and are making huge waves in their respective markets.
The Group experienced revenue growth of 43% in the last financial year through both selective acquisition and new business wins with key clients across the UK.
Headquartered in West Yorkshire, the Group employs more than 350 people across 14 UK sites, who service more than 100,000 buildings across the whole of the UK for over 10,000 customers in a wide range of industries.
The Opportunity
This unique opportunity encapsulates three key areas; Payroll, Purchase Ledger and Fleet Management. Due to the double-digit growth achieved in the last financial year, the need has arisen to recruit a brand new position to sit between the transactional staff and the subsidiary Finance Managers.
The initial focus will be on process improvements to the Group's Payroll. With 350 salaried employees as well as an additional 40/50 sub-contactors, the Payroll isn't large scale or complex, however does need to be brought up-to-date to accommodate the past and future growth of the Group. In this element of the role you will work closely with the Group HR Director, focusing on process including; starters and leavers, benefit and rewards.
Secondary to the above, modification of the transactional ledger staff's reporting lines and day-to-day management needs to be addressed. This is a team of 6 employees who currently report in to the individual subsidiary Finance Managers. This opportunity will potentially develop a new level of management to take responsibility away from the Finance Managers allowing them to focus more on strategy.
Lastly, the Group's Fleet of circa 150 vehicles needs to be managed. This will incorporate expense management, procurement costs and profitability analysis.
The Candidate
Due to the unique nature of this role, a mix of experience in both Payroll and Ledger Management would be hugely beneficial. However, an experienced Payroll Manager who is comfortable with process improvement and implementation, with some experience in Ledger Management would also be considered. The Fleet element of the role can be learned so is not an essential requirement, however any exposure to this would make your application truly valuable.
