Marks Sattin is partnering with a leading Financial Services organisation in Birmingham to recruit a Head of FP&A within the Finance Transformation Division. This is a brand new role within this Division following growth and further exciting plans that lie ahead. The position will be well suited to an experienced individual with an accomplished background within Financial Services. This is a hybrid working role, 3 days expected in my clients lovely offices.

The Head of FP&A will report to the Group Finance Director and Director of Finance Transformation, and will spearhead financial reporting for the Group across the Finance Transformation Programme. The Head of FP&A will shape the financial landscape through data analytics, insights and reporting. As a key stakeholder, the Head of FP&A will liaise with a variety of senior stakeholders and will demonstrate fantastic stakeholder management, influencing and negotiating skills.


Key responsibilities of the Head of FP&A include:

  • Own the reporting and tracking of all financial benefits associated with the Group's Finance Transformation programme
  • Work with the central programme office to merge the Financial metrics and reporting with the non-financial metrics that the programme will track
  • Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills across the organisation to ensure the necessary parties understand business requirements in accordance to the Finance Transformation Programme
  • Work with the cost team to track spend
  • Engage in and act as the main independent Finance point of contact for all board and programme level financial reporting and ensure these are accurately represented at all levels
  • Ensure all changes and plans associated with the Finance Transformation Programme are understood by the wider FP&A teams so that they can plan how they integrate
  • Align with the Finance Change team to ensure all system changes relating to the programme are understood.


To be considered you must:

  • Be a Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Be experienced within Financial Services
  • Have experience in FP&A
  • Have experience supporting large scale finance transformation programmes
  • Have previous experience of the design and operation of Finance processes and controls
  • Be an excellent stakeholder manager with fantastic influencing and negotiating skills
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset
  • Be a commercial individual with the ability to see the bigger picture
  • Be an enthusiastic individual with the ability to gain credibility amongst senior stakeholders
  • Have experience of reporting and presenting to Management and Committees
  • Be within a commutable distance from Birmingham to faciliate hyrid working
