Marks Sattin are partnering a market leading international business in the heart of York city centre. The role has become vacant due to a large finance transformation project which involves a number of internal secondments and extra resource for the next 6-12 months, the company is a well-known business that has a great reputaion across the world and an instantly recognisable brand.

The role will report to one of the Financial Controllers and will need someone who is comfortable and experienced in financial and management reporting for large complex entities. Although the role will be heavily reporting focused you will also have the autonomy to add value and liaise with various stakeholder across departments such as IT, HR and Operations.

Key Responsibilities will involve but not exclusive to:-

  • Manage the month end input and timetable for allocated areas of responsibility, achieving all required tasks and ensuring receipt of all input from external finance stakeholders is received as required. This will include, but not be limited to:-
  • Review and provide balanced feedback on the work done by junior colleagues, providing management, leadership and continuing professional development.
  • Pro-actively identify and assist with implementation of process improvements and opportunity for value add within finance team.
  • Proactively work with other finance teams to resolve identified issues and improve month end practices.
  • Preparation of department reports within agreed deadlines.
  • Answer and support others in addressing queries on financial data from business stakeholders.
  • Take ownership for provision of operational stakeholder training days, taking constructive feedback on issues where appropriate and developing an appropriate strategy for resolution.
  • Undertake balance sheet reconciliations and reviews as required, ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet.
  • Provide analytical insight and challenge to support month end and period end close processes and reporting.
  • Preparation of period end statutory disclosure notes and supporting commentary for review in accordance with the activities listed above.

It would be advantageous if you have large company experience, PE or a Plc reporting background, it is also advantageous but not essential that you are qualified (CIMA/ACCA or ACA).
