My client has advised me that they are looking to hire a Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal team. As part of the role you will report into the General Counsel and will be responsible for providing legal support and advice on all customer negotiations (contracts), the development of the product and service, and also handling any disputes. The role is based in London and will be hybrid working.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Assisting and leading the negotiations with external stakeholders. You will also be drafting a range of commercial agreements
- Working with various other departments of the company
- Advising on all contentious legal issues that the business faces
- Be up to date with all changes to laws and regulations within the company's remit
- Providing legal advice on any changes of law and assisting implementation of new measures that are relevant due to the changes
- Manage and work with all external counsel employed by the company
What you will need:
- 3-5 PQE England and Wales Lawyer
- Knowledge and understanding of financial services and fin tech, as well as the relevant laws and regulations
- In-house experience within banking, restructuring or a regulatory team in private practice, or in-house financial services experience
- Strong commercial law understanding with the ability to think on your feet and be proactive under pressure
