Job title: Management Accountant

Salary: £30k - £45K

Location: Louth

Our client operates a distillery in the quaint market town of Louth. The team there are responsible for managing new products from concept to launch, with a sustainable outlook throughout.

They are seeking a Management Accountant with costing experience to join their team on either a full-time or part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and management of the company. As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in analyzing financial information, preparing reports, and guiding senior management on financial decisions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, to include profit and loss, balance sheet, cashflow and variance analysis, to report on the company's financial position and liquidity.
  • Continuous monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (to include Gross Profit, Net Profit, Operating Profit, Budget Variances, Wastage, Yield, Stock Control, Cashflow).
  • Review and analyse production information to determine profitability.
  • Analysing financial performance to contribute to the business planning and forecasts
  • Direct involvement and management of inventory management, investigations for discrepancies and implementation of new controls where applicable.
  • Cost accounting with the maintenance of production order handling and inventory systems
  • Assistance in budgeting/forecasting and variance reporting.
  • Review and authorise monthly payment run
  • Assist with the management of cash flow and accounting transactions including the reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Maintenance and review of financial ledgers
  • Completion of compliance returns to HMRC including adherence to the Excise Notice 196.
  • Compliance with financial policies and regulations
  • Credit control management

Skills/knowledge:

  • Management Accounts experience
  • Cost Accounting experience
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills to communicate the financial position and projections of the business.
  • Ability to manage operations and adapt processes within time and budgets
  • Excellent IT Literacy (MS Excel and Word) with spreadsheet and database skills
  • Excellent communication skills to support the operational side of the business with informative information.
