Financial Controller Private Equity
This Mayfair based private equity firm is looking for a Financial Controller with 4 to 7 years, post qualified corporate accounting experience (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). They are open on background and would judge those from a commerce background on equal footing as those from financial services. This makes the role a rare opportunity for someone not currently in private equity to make the move into the industry.
The role reports directly into the CFO and will involve a mixture of core and commercial finance. The CFO is keen to be as hands off as possible whilst open to offering support and mentoring when needed to progress the successful candidate into a Head of Finance position within the next 3 years. Further to the ongoing reporting requirements, you will be responsible for the ongoing forecasting of the business and presenting your work to board level on a monthly basis; with this in mind, modeling skills are preferred or at least an interest in adding this to your accounting arsenal. There are a team of corporate accountants that report into this position and as such your role will be restricted more to reviewing; there is also scope to make at least 2 hires over the next 12 months.
The firm invests in a mix of TMT and infrastructure, their offices are in the heart of Mayfair and overlook Hannover Square. Although very much blue chop by nature, the firm operates a firm policy when it comes to personality fit; as much as they like polished professionals they prefer those who are personable and able to get on with all levels of seniority.
This is the ideal opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their private equity career or for someone to move into the industry. The role offers both a challenge in the short term and scope for progression in the long term.
The salary will involve an improvement on your current basic and a discretionary bonus of around 15% - 30%.
