Marks Sattin are recruiting an opportunity for a Restructuring & Insolvency Assistant Manager to undertake corporate casework within a growing national businesses Restructuring and Business Recovery team based in Birmingham; and to provide guidance and support to less experienced members of the team as well as proactive interaction with management as required.

Our client works with UK regulators, banks, peer-to-peer and other lenders, UK and overseas financial institutions, corporates, partnerships, not-for-profit organisations and individuals.

You will be assisting with predominantly Corporate Insolvency Cases:

Working for Managers, a senior will be tasked with completing the administration of each appointment.

  • Managing case delivery incorporating pre-appointment, progression and closure.
  • Realising assets in a timely manner.
  • Providing regular progress reports in line with statutory procedures
  • Investigating Directors' conduct including misappropriation of company funds.
  • Preparing for and attending creditors meetings and dealing with subsequent queries.
  • Providing recommendations for signoff by senior management.
  • Liaising with 3rd parties and senior members of staff to ensure case progression and prompt realisations of assets.
  • Attending site where necessary.
  • Maintaining IPS case diaries and IPS set-up.
  • Ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
  • Support of Juniors.
  • Seek to further increase and apply own technical knowledge.
  • Look to improve systems and processes.
  • Support the Firm's external networking. Opportunity to be involved in business development/networking events.

Key Skills Required:

  • Extensive experience of corporate (administration/liquidation) insolvencies is necessary.
  • Knowledge of insolvency rules and statutory requirements.
  • Quick to learn/adapt to new procedures/situations.
  • Ability to organise to be able to work on multiple different assignments at one time.
  • Working towards or completed Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency (C.P.I Qualification)

This role will be part of a wider team dealing with client work. The post-holder will support Partners and managers as well as undertaking their own casework and caseload. Additionally, the post holder will be expected to provide guidance and support to more junior members of the team. There is a lot of scope for career progression within this firm through to management.
