Senior Reinsurance Accountant - permanent role

An exceptional opportunity for a Reinsurance Accountant to join a rapidly expanding global reinsurer.

Salary up to £70,000 + bonus and benefits. You would be joining a high-growth global reinsurance firm who have doubled in size in the past 3 years. They are seeking someone to join their UK Finance team and get involved in all aspects relating monitoring, analysis and reporting on reinsurance accounting.

Given their past growth and future plans, this role comes with splendid personal and professional growth opportunities. No two days will be the same but some of the things that you will be getting yourself involved with will be:

  • After gaining a good understanding of the Group and its businesses, you will be tasked to add value to the reporting process by analysing the results and assessing variances to plan and preparing relevant reports
  • Improving reporting processes to provide prompt delivery of collateral and financial reporting
  • Working closely with the Head of Reinsurance on setting out reporting processes, operating manuals and data requirements in relation to new reinsurance projects
  • Ensuring that the accounting processes for specific deals reflects all elements of the signed agreements;
  • Providing the actuarial team with regular inputs in their process, reviewing claims/collateral calculations, and resolving any differences with stakeholders and management;
  • Assisting the Head of Reinsurance with tracking of the reinsurance cash flows, advising of upcoming payments, reviewing SSIs and ensuring timelines set within reinsurance agreements are met

Experience required:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA);
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Insurance industry experience, ideally with Reinsurance experience preferable;
  • Strong stakeholder management experience - being able to speak with colleagues across different divisions, geographic regions and levels of seniority
  • If you feel you've got the required skills & experience, feel free to get in touch and I'd be happy to discuss the role in more detail.
