Cillian Mcevoy

I am a proud Cavan native & Manager of the Project/Change Management & Consulting practice of Marks Sattin Dublin. After spending four years working in the project management space in Toronto, I am excited to take what I have learned to grow a project/change management practice in Ireland. I started my career in recruitment almost 10 years ago & have found my sweet spot in the project/change management space. Contact me

Welcome to the team Cillian, how are you finding everything so far?

Thank you– it is hard to believe I am fast approaching six months with Marks Sattin! So far it has been both equally enjoyable and challenging. I have been tasked with setting up the Project, Change Management & Consulting Division in Dublin. We have made some solid progress in the past six months, and this will be built upon with Aaron Fleming moving from our technology team to the Change Division.

How did you originally hear about Marks Sattin and what made you want to join us?

The Marks Sattin brand in Ireland was not well known when I joined the organisation, and I bought in to the potential.

Throughout the interview process, there was a genuine sense of care in Karen Chilton’s (Internal Talent Manager) approach. She really bought into who I was and what I wanted to achieve. Furthermore, every person I met was personable and professional. From going for a pint of Guinness with Matt Fitzpatrick (Director in Dublin) to having informal chats with Ali Paterson (Commercial Director) and Matt Wilcox (Managing Director) they really shared my vision for the team.

Outside of the interview process, Matt Fitzpatrick’s vision for the Dublin office drew me in. He spoke passionately about quality of service, organic growth, trust, and hard work.

The timings also played a significant part in my decision. Matt was looking someone for someone to lead the Project, Change Management & Consulting Division in Dublin and this was just the type of opportunity I was looking for!

How would you describe the team in Dublin and what is the office culture like?

The team in Dublin have a no-nonsense approach to business which is really refreshing. It is a high-performance culture where high standards are demanded in the way we treat each other, our candidates, and the clients we represent. If you are not prepared to work hard and adhere to these standards, you will not fit in.

What do you bring to the table as a Manager in our Dublin office?

As a manager I aim to bring a caring, down to earth approach to the office. I hope to lead by example and encourage my team to work hard, collaborate and solve problems efficiently for our candidates and clients.

What advice would you give to recruitment consultants who are considering joining Marks Sattin in Dublin?

Our Technology and Project, Change Management & Consulting divisions are in “build mode” now. The Dublin office is a fantastic opportunity for a 360 recruiter who wants to be a part of establishing something special. You will be given the mentorship and autonomy to flourish.
