Accounts Team Leader

An excellent opportunity for an Accounts Team Leader to lead and mentor a small finance team while overseeing day-to-day accounts operations. This role combines hands-on financial management with the chance to develop junior staff, drive process improvements while working in a friendly flat structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage AP/AR functions and oversee payment runs.
• Supervise two junior finance staff.
• Ensure VAT compliance, including CIS and reverse charge.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support payroll processing.
• Handle scheduled payments (VAT, PAYE, corporation tax).
• Assist with month-end close and external audits.
• Maintain accurate financial records and improve processes.

Requirements

• Experience in a similar role within construction (highly desirable).
• Strong VAT/CIS knowledge and team leadership experience.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero).
• AAT qualified minimum or working towards a relevant qualification.
