Assistant Accountant - £30,000 - £35,000- based in Reading, Berkshire

This is a superb role for an Assistant Accountant looking to continue with their qualification.

You will be working in a busy & fast paced environment.

This role will be working onsite 4 days a week with one homeworking day. Our clients offers fantastic team building trips twice a year, free parking and great bonuses which are paid both on company and individual performance.

About Your New Role:

  • Daily bank postings and bank reconciliations
  • Monthly Sales Reconciliation
  • Credit Card Transactions
  • Coding and approving invoices on system
  • Posting expenses
  • Assisting the Management Accountant with Accruals and prepayments
  • Providing cover for the Contracts Accountant
  • Core AP and AR functions
  • Experience in taking part in the annual Audit process
  • Raising sales invoices, credit notes, client communication management regarding AR, posting sales transactions on Vincere and Sage Intact
  • Obtaining daily exchange rates and updating records in Excel and Sage Intact.
  • Processing and posting supplier invoices in Sage Intact.
  • Running and reviewing aged creditors reports, suggesting payment runs for approval
  • Setting up payment runs on the bank bi-weekly
  • Processing HMRC P30 and P32 payments and manual non-GBP currency supplier payments
  • Updating cash flow post payment runs

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be adaptable and able to grasp new systems quickly and embrace change
  • Strong reporting skills: Excel (lookups, pivots, IF formulas, tables)
  • Strong time management, planning and organisational skills, attention to detail
  • Self-motivation and a willingness to continuously learn and change
  • Experience in AP & AR
  • Being approachable and a Team player is key
  • Must be passionate about Finance


Package:

  • £35,000 (max) with competitive benefits
  • Hours Mon - Thurs 9am till 6pm, Fri 9am till 5.30pm
  • 4 days in the office, 1 day at home
  • Closed between Xmas and New Years
  • Full financial study support for AAT/ACCA/CIMA with a company day off for exam days
  • Attendance to company team building trips twice a year
