Start your job searchAn Assistant Accountant is needed on a temp to perm basis at a franchised retail company based in North London. The role is hybrid and based 3 days per week in the office.
The role will suit someone who is a keen learner, an active studier of ACCA/ CIMA and keen to progress.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist with monthly management reporting, P&L, Balance Sheet, financial and margin analysis
- Assist with preparation of prepayment and accruals for month end.
- Month end stock count
- Assist with analysing new shop opening costs
- Assist with Credit Control account
- Assist with Debtor control account
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
- Assist with the preparation of year end accounts
- Support Purchase ledger when required
- Any other ad hoc work as required
Qualifications & Skills
Relevant experience as Assistant Accountant in a similar size business is necessary (preferably at least 2-3 years' experience) as well as demonstrated progression in professional qualification. Ability to work to their own initiative. The ideal candidate should have a solid working knowledge of Sage Accounting and be an intermediate to high level user of Microsoft Excel.
- Taken some professional accounting exams
- Have excellent Excel Spreadsheet skills and good IT knowledge
- Have the ability to adapt and work in a dynamic and fast-growing business
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Proactive hands on approach
- Knowledge of FMCG retail/consumer sector (preferred)
