Marks Sattin are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a fantastic opportunity with a growing & thriving business based in Reading. The role is on a full time remote basis, until health & safety government guidelines allow back to office work. The role would suit an individual who is either AAT Qualified or an ACCA / CIMA Studier, with 3 years Accounting experience looking to challenge themselves in a fast paced working environment.

The duties involve but aren't limited to:

• Bank reconciliations
• Purchase ledger payments and allocation
• Processing G/L bank payment and receipts
• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Posting credit card expenditure and by ensuring all applicable receipts have been received from all cardholders and any necessary reclaimable input VAT is identified
• Credit card account reconciliations
• Intercompany account reconciliations and invoicing
• Ownership of accrual and prepayment schedules
• Prepare manual journal entries for prepayments/accruals
• Assist the Finance Manager with month-end expense account analysis
• Maintain general ledger accuracy
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any unreconciled items within set time period
• Perform various account analyses, identify and post any required adjusting journal entries
• Assist in preparation of Corporate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages
• Support the Finance Manager during the monthly close process and look to standardize then improve tasks
• Familiarity with internal controls and/or SOX compliance and ensuring all internal controls are followed to achieve a successful SOX audit.
• Streamline and improve back office and finance processes on a continual basis.
• Assist with external & internal audits to ensure all aspects of compliance and control are met
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy.
• Proactively work to support other members of the Finance team and participate or lead on any adhoc projects
