The ASSIGNMENT
Our IT Business Analysts are the key to the success of the Digital & IT team, and play a pivotal role in every aspect of our business. Every day, we work side-by-side with our colleagues across different functions within the organisation to ensure that what we deliver meets and exceeds their expectations.
Within the D&IT Compliance team, the role of IT Business Analyst covers the whole application lifecycle (starting from requirement gathering, analysis, design & testing, through to post go-live support and maintenance). You will use your skills in communication, analysis, and planning to ensure that new developments and systems are fit for purpose. Your ability to problem solve will allow you to propose new & innovative solutions to business problems.
We have a drive to get into the detail, and this means analysing code, reports, and pushing for the real driver behind requirements. This flexibility and our drive to be efficient, agile, and thorough are key differentiators for the team.
We utilise both established commercial systems (such as OpenLink Endur and Trayport) as well as internally developed systems (using .Net, Python, SQL Server, Scala & Cloudera as a few examples), and a key component of this role is to guarantee the quality of new deliveries and the smooth running of existing services, striving for continuous improvement across our application landscape.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The D&IT Compliance Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in delivering the best possible systems by:
- Working side-by-side with our business functions and application maintenance teams to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of compliance & regulatory systems, becoming a functional expert
- Working in an agile way to capture requirements and specifications, choosing the most effective means to elicit and document these with workshops, storyboards, user stories, or other methods
- Analysing and verifying requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards, as well as documenting these fully
- Working closely with our development teams to brainstorm, prototype, analyse and deliver on requirements as efficiently as possible, keeping our projects on track
- Complying with established processes where required, and working across teams to define processes and documentation/training as new features and systems are implemented
- Delivering reporting and working with our business and stakeholders on reporting outputs
- Contribute to the definition of full testing procedures, and working with our business colleagues to plan and deliver these to ensure than newly developed functionality and newly implemented systems are fit for purpose
- Participate as required across the organisation to deliver far-reaching programmes of transformation or initiatives across all areas of the organisation
