International wholesale/retail company is seeking a Finance Director. As the Finance Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Develop and implement financial strategies and plans in line with business objectives.
2. Lead the finance team in all financial activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
3. Provide strategic advice on financial matters to the executive team and board of directors.
4. Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
5. Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions.
6. Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
7. Manage cash flow and working capital to optimise financial performance.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiencies and profitability.
9. Continuously monitor market trends, economic developments, and competitor strategies to identify risks and opportunities.
10. Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant. Ideally, the role would suit someone looking to step into their first Finance Director role. Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing finance teams are essential. Experience of having previously worked for a consumer business is desirable.
