A market leading multi-strategy asset manager that has grown exponentially in AUM since inception are looking to hire a Financial Accountant into their robust middle office function based in Central London.

The firm have been growing in headcount over the last 18 months, with a particular emphasis on that growth being within their middle office and due to recent internal promotions within the team, they are keen to hire a qualified accountant that holds an passion and interest for building a career in the investment management space.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity to act as a business partner with front office on new deals, fund accounting team, operations legal and oversee and manage all external service providers for a large portfolio of SPVs such as; auditors and accounting administrators.

Responsibilities in the role include;

  • Coordinate the production and review of the financial and management accounts for the firms related parties with the third-party Administrators.
  • Streamline reporting to the Administrators to facilitate accurate reporting - improve the processes around sharing information, such as cash balances, trades and strategy overviews.
  • Work collaboratively with middle office's Fund Accounting team to accurately reflect the related parties trading strategies in the portfolio management system.
  • Be a "business manager" for the investment team on the related parties. Build a strong working relationship with the investment and legal teams - assisting in the coordination and liaison of new and existing deals.
  • Build, develop and maintain strong cohesive relationships with third parties located around Europe such as; administrators and auditors
  • Project work: assist in coordinating and re-scoping engagements with Administrators. Formalise and professionalise schedules and planning to manage requirements for related parties.

The ideal candidate;

  • Fully Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 1-3 years PQE
  • Experience working in another asset manager or if coming straight from audit, accounts prep/auditing FCA regulated firms is highly desirable
  • Thrives in a varied, fast paced role working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Feel confident and comfortable challenging stakeholders when necessary to ensure business requirements are met
  • Excellent proven relationship management skills
  • Enjoys working in a role your sleeves up, collaborative environment
