A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant where you will get the opportunity to play an instrumental role in shaping the finance team throughout a period of significant growth (Turnover forecast to grow from c.£150m to c.£350m in next 3 years!)

This position will be working very closely with the Finance Controller and Finance Director to deliver key business projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of accurate monthly consolidated management accounts on a timely basis
  • Responsible for overseeing the team to ensure that tasks are completed accurately and in line with the month end timetable
  • Responsibility for the annual audit and preparing the statutory accounts
  • Management and coaching of finance team members
  • Responsible for reviewing monthly payroll
  • Working closely with the marketing team to ensure rigorous control of significant marketing budget (c.£1m per month)
  • Monthly balance sheet reviews to ensure team prepare detailed reconciliations
  • Work with the financial controller and finance director to produce accurate forecasts and business plans
  • Assisting the financial controller and finance director with providing financial information to the business and completing ad-hoc financial and business projects

Required experience

  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA)
  • Experience of managing a team and developing colleagues
  • Commercially focussed
  • Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of role - consistently produces work to the highest standard
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Able to prioritise work based on deadlines and importance
  • Strong personal drive
  • Proactive in seeking guidance when working beyond current knowledge or experience
  • An inquisitive approach to all aspects of role and willingness to challenge the status quo
  • A proven problem solver - proactive in identifying issues within area of responsibility, recommending solutions and in implementing agreed recommendations
