A globally recognised financial institution are looking to fill a 9 month fixed term contract in their financial reporting team. You will join the team who are responsible for maintaining financial records for the business as well applying relevant accounting rules.

The accounting teams are responsible for the preparation of periodic and annual financial reports. Together with setting and maintaining the accounting policies of the business, they maintain the financial records for each and provide timely and accurate information on financial performance and financial position. This information enables management to evaluate historic performance and formulate strategy.

The role interacts with a wide cross section of departments to coordinate the receipt and analysis of information required to fulfil internal and external financial reporting requirements. The person is also expected to respond to enquiries from internal and external auditors as well.

Your responsibilities will include but not restricted to the below

  • Prepares sections of the year-end financial statements with all required disclosures and notes accurately and to a tight deadline
  • Prepare periodic internal financial management reporting.
  • Assesses the impact of the latest IFRS accounting standards on financial statements to ensure compliance
  • Ensures the accounting policies are up-to-date and consistent with IFRS
  • Undertakes investigations and inspections of data in accordance with established procedure to identify and quantify potential accounting postings required
  • Provides advice to internal clients relating to relevant financial products or transactions
  • Contributes to the development of procedures to ensure the accounting department excels
  • Liaises with internal and external auditors and responds to queries

You will be a qualified accountant with prior experience of working in the financial reporting space with in depth knowledge of IFRS standards. Experience in FS is desirable as well as someone looking to make a move from practice. Please apply for a more detailed discussion and job description.
