Start your job searchThis role plays a crucial part in ensuring the day-to-day financial operations of the Canadian business runs smoothly and will be key in supporting the Canadian General Manager. The individual will get the opportunity to help shape some of the processes required in a high growth Private Equity backed business and truly work Globally as we expand. Duties will include:
- Internal Reporting and Management accounting
- Ensure alignment to Group financial accounting procedures and adapt to any local requirements should they arise.
- Monitor and review expenditure of business against budgets.
- Oversee treasury aspects such as cashflow forecasting and preparing bank reconciliation.
- Preparing analysis of operating results and variances to budget for monthly Global Business reviews.
- Audit and Financial reporting including production of statutory accounts
- Tax and transfer pricing
- Compliance and implementation of key internal controls
- Business partnering and commercial analysis
- Supporting GM in setting up core finance processes with market entry of the business in Canada.
- Sounding board for GM on Local financial decisions.
- Analysing and producing insight to Local teams on weekly/monthly business performance.
- Producing input into competitor performance and pricing analysis.
- Setting up AP and AR processes and ensuring running efficiently across the business,
- Working with GM and payroll providers to implement efficient payroll processes with assistance of International team.
- Assist Head of Finance on ad-hoc duties as required.
The ideal candidate will be degree educated and a qualified Accountant with 3-5 years post qualified experience. Ideally you will have experience working in a start / scale up environment and experience managing people. Strong Excel skills are essential, and previous use of accounting software such as SAP/NetSuite/Oracle/Xero would be beneficial. Candidates should have excellent planning, prioritisation, and time management skills as well as a self-starter who brings passion, enthusiasm & focus to their work. This role may involve some international travel and will work across multiple time zones.
