Location: York
Working as a Group Financial Accountant, this role has the luxury of reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller for a well established, fast paced business. Working at group level, you will take autonomy for the financial control within the business and also play a key role in improving the company finance system.
Highlights of the role include:
- Consolidate the monthly group management accounts and month-end reporting packs
- Establish good relationship between finance and operations
- Understand financial needs of relevant department managers
- Provide financial training to non finance to help create a better understanding from a finance point of view
- Provide appropriate financial insight on month end results
- Point of contact for year end audit
- Management of the year-end audit files and statutory accounts
- Ensure financial compliance requirements are adhered to / deadlines met
Key skills:
- A qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Current relevant experience working as a Financial Accountant. Experience at Group level or working for a PLC would be preferred but not essential
- Strong systems knowledge, especially with Excel inc pivot tables, V Lookups etc.
- An Accountant who enjoys financial controls and is technically strong would be very well suited to this role
- A good communicator, able to communicate with senior members of the finance and non-finance team
- Excellent written skills
