Marks Sattin are working with an exciting legal business in Leeds to appoint a new Head of Finance / Finance Manager / Financial Controller (job title to be confirmed depending on candidate appointed).

Role: Finance Manager / FC / Head of Finance - title can be discussed

Location: Leeds Centre

Working pattern: full time role with hybrid working (3 days per week in the office, 2 from home)

Report to: Part time FD

This professional services business has grown to be very succesful over the past few years and this role is being newly created as a result.

Whilst this role is number 2 in finance and will be supported by a part time FD, the candidate will still get a lot of exposure to operating at a number 1 level and this could be a great stepping stone for someone aspiring to be a number 1 in finance in the future.

Duties:

• Deal with all day to day finance duties expected in an SME business (finance previously outsourced)
• Produce management accounts
• Produce strong management information to present to partners
• Financial accounting / reporting as required
• Be comfortable working in a regulated environment
• End to end payroll

The ideal candidate will be:

• A fully qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Experience working in either an accountancy practice or an SME environment
• The client is open to sector experience but someone who has worked in a regulated environment would be handy
• Ability to work with autonomy in a role and confident with decision making
• Strong IT skills, experienced with Excel and other accounting software packages
• Someone passionate, dynamic and keen to progress further with their career
• A friendly personality, keen to work in an open plan office and be part of a strong culture (albeit on a hybrid basis)

You may currently be working a hands on role (such as accounts prep) in an accountancy practice and looking to transition your skills into industry. Alternatively you may be already working in an SME environment and wanting more autonomy or a step up in your career.
