Marks Sattin are working in partnership with a global leading Food Production business in South Derbyshire to recruit a Management Accountant on a full-time, permanent basis. The role is a people facing role with lots of stakeholder engagement, so the Management Accountant will be based on-site.

My client are going through a time of growth and positive change, so no is an exciting time to join. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Managment Accountant will play an integral role in the provision of timely and accurate analysis surrounding the financial performance of the site against targets. You will also develop and maintain financial models to provide commerical insight and key decision making. You work closely with a variety of stakeholders across the business area.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting through Finance and Operational reporting mechanisms.
  • Developing and maintaining financial models to support reporting and analysis.
  • Proactively reviewing and improving processes.
  • Providing analysis of financial performance against targets and identify areas for improvement.
  • Working with operational teams to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and drive improvements.
  • Providing financial support for capital expenditure proposals and ensure project budgets are managed effectively.
  • Analysing business operations to identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports and analysis to senior management.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies and procedures.
  • Managing and developing the Assistant Management Accountant


To be considered you must:

  • Have a recognised Accounting Qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), QBE will be considered
  • Have experience in management accounting within an FMCG environment
  • Have strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Be a proficient MS Excel user
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have some proficiency in developing/maintain financial models
  • Be a proficient IT user with experience using a variety of ERP systems and financial reporting software
  • Be within a commutable distance as the position will be site based
