Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist - Regulatory

18 months FTC

Join this financial services business with a difference in their L&D Team who have an exciting opportunity for a new Learning and Development Specialist on an 18 month FTC basis.

This is a new role where the successful candidate will support our ambitious business objectives by leading, creating and evaluating a series of sustainable learning interventions to improve our member contact experience whilst balancing our regulatory requirements.

Partnering with their Governance, Risk and Compliance team and the Operations team, the successful applicant will bring a wealth of experience and skills from working in a learning and development role from a regulated environment. The preferred candidate will have customer services or contact centre environment experience within a financial services organisation.

The ideal candidate will have a proven experience of designing, delivering, measuring, and evaluating regulatory learning solutions. Learning outcomes will include improving our customer experience offering whilst adhering to our regulatory obligations.

The successful candidate will need to be a self-starter who can interpret business problems and capability needs alongside the FCA guidelines, to be able to create engaging learning solutions to a variety of audiences.

Overview of the role:

Reporting to the Senior L&D Manager, the post holder will:

  • Implement the regulatory learning and development upskilling plan for colleagues across the Society in conjunction with our Business Plan and Organisational Development Plan
  • Design, deliver, measure, and evaluate a sustainable programme of blended learning solutions, that provide our people with the rights skill, tools and knowledge to conduct their roles successfully within our regulatory framework whilst providing excellent member experience
  • Work closely with key senior stakeholders to identify learning requirements and outcomes
  • Work within the HR&OD Team reporting to the Senior L&D Manager
  • Consult with directors and senior stakeholders particularly within Governance, Risk and Compliance and Operations
  • Work within budgetary constraints allocated from specific Project and training budgets

Skills and experience:

  • Professionally recognised training accreditation such as Assoc. CIPD or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in a financial services organisation - essential
  • Regulatory training design and delivery - essential
  • Track record in developing, delivering, measuring and evaluating training programmes
  • Effective coaching to support training delivery
  • Ability to identify learning needs and apply solutions, coaching or appropriate technical training
  • Strong communications, negotiation, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Confident and highly organised with strong time management skills
  • Experience of challenging in a constructive manner.
